One-Time Events
Introduction
Unlike subscription services, which involve receiving recurring messages, one-time events involve you sending in a single text-message which triggers no more than one response to be made.
How does it work?
A one-time event requires you to text a short message to 70589. The different words in the message (e.g. primary keyword) identify which service is being requested and the program interacts with you on that basis.
Example 1: "Feel like a chuckle? Request a joke by texting CHUCKLE to 70589." By following those instructions, a joke will be delivered to your handset.
Example 2: "For more detailed info via email, txt MOREINFO followed by your email address to 70589." By following those instructions, a response will be sent to the email address and a response may or may not be sent to the handset.
Example 3: "Txt JUMBO followed by your comments to see them live on the Jumbotron." By following those instructions, the message is then shown on the Jumbotron and a thank you message is sent back.
How much does it cost?
Although all services incur your standard messaging rates, there are some services which are premium rated. This means that a fixed amount will also be charged to your mobile phone bill. (You can check through our keyword directory to see which keyword/service is premium rated.)
Important Notes
- Any response you receive will only be within the context for which it was requested.
- Our messaging platform prevents one-time events from acting as a blanket opt-in to receive additional messages.
- The first interaction with a premium rated service will trigger a confirmation message to make sure that you are fully aware of the premium charge. The one-time event will be triggered upon your confirmation and you won't need to go through that process again.
