Subscriptions - Overview

70589

Introduction

Unlike one-time events, 70589 subscriptions are ongoing services with which you interact using 'subscription commands' and 'service keywords'.

Subscription Commands

Subscription commands are 4 types of primary keywords which are used to:

  1. Opt-in - START, SUBSCRIBE, JOIN etc...
  2. Opt-out - STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT etc...
  3. Request help - HELP
  4. Confirmation Commands - YES, YEAH, Y etc...

Although 'opt-out' and 'help' commands can be used by themselves to a limited extent, they are usually expected to be followed by a service keyword.

So "START WEATHER", for example, would initiate the subscription process for the WEATHER service, "YES" would then confirm the subscription, "STOP WEATHER" would discontinue the WEATHER service and "HELP WEATHER" would provide help for the WEATHER service.

Service Keywords

Service keywords are secondary keywords that denote the individual service to which a subscription command relates.

A full list of subsription services and the service keywords allocated to them can be found in the Subscriptions Directory.
